Guardian Animal Takes on a ‘Lion

Kittens and weedeaters are not a good combination, and this tough little guy found out the hard way!

Brought in for euthanization, the Guardian Animal team felt there was a strong possibility they could bring him back to good health, so Dr. Wixsom and his team dove in with expertise and love.

The photos below are six days past his incident on June 22, and “Dandy”Lion has been a perfect patient, receiving daily bandage changes and lots of attention from clinic employees and volunteers. They’ve made him a 3D printed helmet to keep his bandages in place, and have been welcoming donations of supplies from the community.

Thanks to the charitable fund Dr. Wixsom set up with the Veterinary Care Foundation, they are able to take on these cases when no one else would step up. Follow Guardian Animal on their social accounts to track DandyLion’s progress!
